From Africa to Europe: A Journey with Rezager is a spoken story - recounted by Abdulrazik (“Rezager”) - recorded, transcribed, and edited by Andrea.
It has been written in the spirit of
/ changigy ÿariky / * which in the Daju language might be translated to mean: ‘a story that is orally told, listened to, and passed on’.
As an oral unfiltered account, this book has been primarily composed from personal conversations between the two authors, mostly occurring between June 2017 and November 2020.
* pronounced: / ‘tʃæŋdʒɪkə ‘jærɪkə /
as per the international phonetic alphabet
“The other has a face. And it is a sacred book in which good is recorded.”
— Emmanuel Lévinas, philosopher
